OUR NEW NEWSLETTER

Hello Between The Bridges Subscribers!

Since the newsletter’s inception we have been using an online tool called Mailchimp to send out Between The Bridges. While Mailchimp has served us well, we are trying something new, beginning with this special Updates & Events issue! We have transitioned over to Beehiiv to manage email distribution to our newsletter recipients.

With any change, there may be some bumps along the way, so please let us know if you notice anything unusual by emailing [email protected].

Now, onto the fun stuff!

Sunday, August 30 - 11:30-3:30pm
Charleson Park

False Creek South is turning 50! Come celebrate the place we all love to live. Join your neighbours for free food, games, and live music for all ages.

Plus, at 1:30pm we’ll be celebrating with a birthday cake!

Representatives and information will be available from RePlan staff and the False Creek South Community Housing Trust. We've also invited municipal election candidates, special guests, and local elected officials, so it would be great to have a really good showing! This is an important opportunity to engage and talk about the issues our neighbourhood is facing.

We are striving for a zero-waste event so if you can bring your own dish-ware, you will be a great help in reducing the amount of recycling and compostable waste we produce.

Please RSVP at: grillnchill2026.eventbrite.ca.

If you can’t wait to celebrate False Creek South’s anniversary, then come by Leg-In-Boot Square on Sunday, August 23 for a Daytime Disco party!

No RSVP necessary, bring your own bellbottoms!

VANCOUVER VOTES 2026

We’re only two short months away from the next municipal election, when Vancouverites will head to the polls to decide the next Mayor, Council, School Board, and Park Board.

You can find all False Creek South election news at https://www.falsecreeksouth.org/vancouver-votes-2026/. This page will be updated regularly with registration info, candidate responses, and voting location information.

As is tradition in False Creek South, we’ll be hosting Conversations with Candidates, a series of moderated conversations with each political party, so that they can hear directly from residents about the issues facing our community.

The first four Conversations have been scheduled:

Wednesday, September 9 – OneCity

Thursday, September 10 – Vote Vancouver

Tuesday, September 15 – Green Party of Vancouver

Monday, October 5 – TEAM for a Livable Vancouver
